It’s that time of year again! For me, this is like a second Christmas, or a second birthday, or an extra holiday altogether! This weekend my alma mater is hosting their annual book sale.
This might not mean much to any of you guys, but this is an opportunity for me to add 40+ new/used books to my shelves! The best thing about this sale is that they only charge $0.25 for most books including hardcovers and paperbacks. In the past, I have only spent as little as $25 and walked away with a new library! In fact, as I look at the shelves behind me in my office almost half of the books in my personal library came from previous book sales at my alma mater.
That’s right, almost half my library has come from attending this book sale a few years in a row. Thus far I would have to say my favorite find from one of the past years is Volume 1 of Arnold Dallimore’s biography of George Whitefield (only 25 cents and valued around $25 market value!) or a very old edition of John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress.
Who knows what I will come across this year. I hope there will be some good treasures!
