For whatever reason, I feel motivated to write a psalm/prayer. This will be based on Psalm 51.

O Lord, open my lips,

and my mouth will declare thy praise.

Tether my heart to thine

and I will delight in thy steadfast love.

Let me hear joy and gladness;

and hide not thy face from my sin.

Blot out each and every iniquity of mine

and create in me a clean heart, O my God.

Tether my heart to thine

and I will delight in thy steadfast love.

Teach my thy wisdom

and make it dwell in me.

Renew, O renew a right spirit within me

and purge me, wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Have mercy on me, O God,

for I am the chief of sinners.

O Lord, open my lips

and my mouth will declare thy praise.

Tether my broken and contrite heart to thine.

According to thy steadfast love and abundant mercy

remove my iniquities as far as the east is from the west.

Restore to me the joy of thy salvation,

and uphold me with a willing spirit.

O Lord, open my lips

and my mouth will declare thy praise.

For thou hast tethered my heart to thine in Christ Jesus,

in whom all the blessings in the heavenly realms are granted to me.

In Christ, I have been rescued from my iniquities,

redeemed from the clutches of sin,

and have been given His robes of righteousness.

O Lord, open my lips

and my mouth will declare thy praise!

For thou hast tethered my heart to thine in Christ Jesus!

  1. Could not have been more perfectly tethered to today’s prompt. Got to love how His word is so very applicable always!! I just keep sharing, but some days I am conflicted as I have seen many whom have blogs that conflict with some of their likes. It made my heart feel heavy. I know it the way it spoken of in that of Revelations. Almost made me want to pull out, and stop my blog. Do you get what I am saying?
