So, I was nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award (Not really sure what all this means!) by Lisa. If you haven’t checked out her site before, please do! There are so many encouraging and lovely posts there that you will easily find yourself spending all your free time there, as I did a few days ago… Anywho, you can find her site here: Cries From an Unkemt Garden.
So, thank you, Lisa, for the nomination! This is my first ever nomination for any sort of award since starting this blog-site back in March of 2017, so I am honored!
Here are the rules for this:
- Thank the person(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog
- Answer the 7 questions sent by the person who nominated you
- Nominate 7 new blogs to receive the award and write them 7 new questions
- List the rules and display the Real Neat Blogger Award logo on your post and/or on your blog.
These questions were asked by Lisa, which I will attempt to answer in a concise way!
Out of all the 4 seasons, which is my favorite and why?
My favorite season is summer. Not argument can persuade me that any other season is better than this season. I love heat. I love the sun. I love golfing in the sun and heat. I take most of my vacations during the summer months. School has been my life for the past 23 1/2 years, so it is only natural that I would love the break from school to just relax. This won’t really happen this year due to my summer classes for my Master’s program, but I can still look forward to a more relaxing schedule! So, that is why I love summer! (That and winter is cold in Minnesota, Fall is nice for about 2 weeks, and Spring ruins my golfing schedule with sporadic rain and even snowfall…)
What is my favorite candy?
Again, there is no argument that can persuade me otherwise when it comes to Reese’s peanut butter cups (unless they have melted in the back seat of your car…). I love chocolate. I love peanut butter. Put them together and they are unstoppable! I could probably eat them every day and not grow weary of eating them!
What is my favorite genre of music?
I used to be big into pop music when I was in high school. Not so much anymore. I would say that my favorite genre, at least right now, is Christian Worship music. Not Christian music you hear on the radio…. I find it hard to differentiate between some of those songs and love songs you sing to your wife… But songs that exalt Christ and not yourself. If you looked at my Pandora playlist you would see Sovereign Grace Music at the top, then Indelible Grace, then Matt Papa, etc.
Am I a dog or a cat person?
I love both. I owned a cat since I was in 4th grade. He had to be put down last summer, which was hard for me. But, I love dogs more. They listen to you. They actually seem to care about your feelings. Dogs let you pet them forever. The list could go on. I love both, but dogs have a special place in my heart.
Am I an introvert or an extrovert?
Introvert. This is why you see me blogging. I’d rather interact with people behind a screen than in person. People drain me. After church I need to recharge by being alone for a while. This is why I love golf! I can go out alone and just walk in peace! At times I can be an extrovert, but it takes a lot of effort!
What is my favorite movie?
I will respond to this question by listing my favorite movie trilogy. You cannot just ask me one movie I like because I love the storyline of many movies. However, there is a storyline that trumps all others and it comes in the form of a trilogy. The Lord of the Rings. You cannot just watch one movie from the trilogy and understand the whole picture of the book or movie. You need all three movies to inform you! In elementary and high school I was sick a lot. This meant I stayed home from school often. This gave me plenty of time to watch these movies over and over again. In fact, I have most of the lines memorized. I could even tell you when the end of each disc in the extended edition took place.
And lastly, what is my favorite subject in school?
Hands down Church History. It encompasses so many parts of the other subjects I love, like theology, history, biography (not really a subject..), and even literature! Learning about how the Church changed from the days of the New Testament to now is quite remarkable! I can only marvel at the providence of God towards his people, the Church, and how he has raised up so many faithful people to guide the Church, teach the Church, and move the Church closer to glorifying Himself!
Well, there you have it! Hope you learned a little more about me and what I love and even what I do not love!
There are 7 bloggers that I will nominate, although there probably could be more. These are bloggers that have constantly brought me encouragement either through commenting or liking my posts, but also through their content as well! You do not have to participate, but know that you each (and many, many others) have been a tremendous evidence of God’s grace to me!
Your 7 questions are:
- What is your favorite holiday and why?
- Who influenced you to be who you are today?
- What is your favorite vacation spot?
- What genre of movies do you enjoy most?
- If you can answer this, what is your favorite book?
- If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?
- You choose the last question 🙂
