Flowing from my post “Out of the Wreck, I Rise” from this morning comes this beautiful hymn, My Anchor Holds by William C. Martin.
In case you missed the “hymn” yesterday: Hymn of the Day: Judge of the Secrets.
As far as I know, there isn’t an exciting story behind this hymn. But certainly the words from Hebrews were on Martin’s mind as he penned this hymn.
Take a listen to this hymn:
Even though the song is slow, it still has great truth in it! No matter the circumstances of life, the trials we face, the tribulations we go through, or even the darts the devil throws at us, we can trust in the anchor of our souls, Jesus Christ our Lord!
Hebrews 6:19–20 (ESV)
19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
